New Delhi: India recorded 18,346 fresh COVID-19 infections in the last 24 hours, the lowest in over 6 months, the Union Health Ministry informed on Tuesday.
With this, the active caseload of the country stands at 2,52,902; accounting for less than 1 per cent of the total cases.
As per the ministry, the recovery rate of India is at its highest since March 2020 and currently stands at 97.93 per cent.
As many as 29,639 recoveries were reported in the last 24 hours, taking the total recoveries to 3,31,50,886.
A total number of 57,53,94,042 tests have been conducted so far.

Russia Records 25,110 COVID-19 Cases In Past 24 Hours
Russia recorded 25,110 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, down from 25,781 the day before, bringing the cumulative total to 7,637,427, the federal response center said on Tuesday.
"Over the past day, 25,110 COVID-19 cases were confirmed across 85 Russian regions, including 2,110 cases (8.4%) without clinical symptoms," the center said, adding that the rate of increase fell to 0.33%.

Arunachal Logs 27 New COVID-19 Cases, Tally At 54,752
Twenty seven people tested positive for Covid-19 in Arunachal Pradesh on Tuesday pushing the virus caseload to 54,752 in the state but there was no casualty due to the killer disease in the past 24 hours. As many as 54,061 people have recuperated from the disease so far in the state including the 21 on MondaY.

Puducherry registered 82 fresh cases of COVID-19 during the last twenty-four hours ending 10 a.m. on Tuesday, raising the overall tally to 1.26 lakh. The new cases identified at the end of examination of 5,368 samples were spread over Puducherry 46, Karaikal 22, Yanam four and Mahe 10. One more person from Mahe succumbed to the viral infection taking the death count to 1,843.
