Madhya Pradesh too has announced restrictions in cities till Monday. Bengaluru and six other cities in Karnataka have also enforced a night curfew till April 20.
The Election Commission on Friday said candidates and star campaigners can be banned from holding campaign rallies if COVID-19 safety rules are not followed. However, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Puduchery and Assam have already voted. 44 seats in Bengal are voting for the fourth phase today.
Worldwide, over 13 crore cases have been recorded so far; 29.15 lakh people have died.
