New Delhi:
The country is celebrating Guru Purab, the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak, today.
The Sikh Guru was born in 1469 near Lahore and hundreds of Indians cross the border each year to celebrate this auspicious day at Nankana Sahib, his birthplace.
The festival is also marked by a long procession that takes place two days before the actual celebrations. This year it started from Old Delhi and culminated at Central Secretariat with hundreds of people marching together, singing kirtans.
