New Delhi: The Supreme Court today refused to entertain a plea seeking a probe into reported claim of former Home Secretary and BJP lawmaker RK Singh that several Mumbai police personnel were on the pay roll of fugitive underworld don Dawood Ibrahim.
"Unko kahiye ki aur khulashe karen taki unlogon ke khilaf karwai ho sake (Ask Mr Singh to reveal more so that action can be taken against those persons)," a bench comprising Chief Justice TS Thakur and justices R Banumathi and UU Lalit said.
The bench dismissed the plea filed by Ramesh Ranchhoddas Joshi, a native of Mumbai, seeking a comprehensive probe into the claims of RK Singh, former bureaucrat lawmaker who had also served as Home Secretary during UPA rule.
The lawmaker had claimed that many policemen were getting money from Dawood and in the process, were undermining the law and order of the country, he said.
