New Delhi: Health Ministry and Family Welfare will hold mock drills at all health facilities across the country on Tuesday following a surge in COVID-19 infections in many countries.
This is to ensure readiness in the availability of oxygen support, and ICU beds among other preparedness measures in case of a surge of COVID-19 cases in India.

110 international passengers tested 'randomly' at Delhi airport on Day
The recent 'Guidelines for International Arrivals', issued by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), after Covid-19 resurfaced in some countries, to conduct random testing of two per cent international passengers (on the flight) at Airports, was followed accordingly and 110 international passengers were tested randomly on day 1 at the Delhi IGI, Genestrings Diagnostic Centre said on Sunday.
The guidelines, issued by Health Ministry, provide the protocols to be compiled by International travellers as well as points of entry (airports, seaports and land borders) starting from December 24, 2022.
A subsection (2 per cent of the total passengers on the flight) is undergoing random post-arrival testing at the IGI Airport Delhi.
Bihar on alert, says Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Covid situation
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Sunday said that every day almost 45,000-50,000 COVID-19 tests are being conducted in the state.
While talking to the media, Kumar said, "We are conducting COVID tests and administering vaccines. Every day almost 45,000-50,000 tests are being conducted.
"Bihar is on alert, and patients are being provided treatment. The Centre is also careful. We have to be careful with those coming from outside," he added.
Earlier on Saturday, the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) wrote to all the States and Union Territories of the country and directed them to ensure a functional and regular supply of medical oxygen for Covid-19 pandemic management.

India Records 227 New Covid cases
India recorded 227 new coronavirus infections, while the active cases increased to 3,424, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Sunday.
The Covid case tally was recorded at 4.46 crore (4,46,77,106) .
The death toll stands at 5,30,693 with two fatalities with one reconciled by Kerala and one death reported in Maharashtra in the last 24 hours, the data updated at 8 am stated.
The active cases comprise 0.01 per cent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate increased to 98.80 per cent, according to the ministry.
China To Stop Publishing Daily Covid Cases Amid Fresh Surge
China's National Health Commission, which for the past three years or so has published daily COVID-19 case figures for the country, said it will no longer release such data from Sunday.
"Relevant COVID information will be published by the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention for reference and research," the NHC said in a statement, without specifying the reasons for the change or how frequently China CDC will update COVID information.
