Patna:
An officer of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) was today sent to judicial custody over allegations of sharing details of the movement of the paramilitary force with Naxals.
Assistant Commandant Sanjay Yadav, posted in the Maoist-affected area of Barachatti in Gaya, was arrested last week.
The Bihar police say the officer's phone had been under surveillance for the past three months, and he had been caught sharing information on the movement of security forces, especially the anti-Maoist CoBRA commandos, with Maoist leaders.
Sanjay Yadav's alleged role as an informer was reportedly confirmed after the arrest of another man from the same area, Pradeep Yadav, suspected to be a Maoist.
The CRPF is also investigating the extent to which the officer had helped the Maoists.
