Jaipur: Crafting of a strategy is very important for the space programme to ensure its long-term sustainability, former chairman of ISRO K Kasturirangan said. "It is important to develop state-of-the-art technology within the country.
"Supporting the vision of Dr Vikram Sarabhai, who was the father of the Indian space programme, India today has a workforce working in and outside the space agencies that has been supporting the space programme," he said while delivering the fifth Udai Pareek Memorial Lecture at Malaviya National Institute of Technology (MNIT).
"India has also ventured into the field of space commerce, wherein our space capabilities are being used for other countries.
"India has been effectively utilising its resources to develop a sustainable space programme that can suitably work in the future," added Mr Kasturirangan.
