Curfew imposed in Sangli after communal clashes
Sangli, Maharashtra:

Curfew has been imposed in Sangli in Maharashtra three days after two communities clashed during Ganesh visarjan celebration.

The situation continues to be tense in the area.

The clashes erupted over a welcome banner put in a local market.

Around 151 Ganesh mandals have not yet taken their idols out for visarjan and are insisting the government allow them to put up the banner that caused the clashes.

The government has so far refused to allow that to happen.
