The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is questioning former Commonwealth Games Organising Committee chairman Suresh Kalmadi at their headquarters today.
This is the second time Kalmadi is being questioned by the CBI.
On March 11, a five-member CBI team had conducted a search of his locker at the Parliament street branch of UCO bank in New Delhi.
Top Kalmadi aides including Lalit Bhanot, the former Secretary General of the Organising Committee, and VK Verma, who was the Director General of the Organising Committee, have been arrested in the last few months for alleged financial irregularities in various cases pertaining to Commonwealth Games. They will be produced in the Patiala House Court today.
In November 2010, Congress axed Kalmadi as secretary of its Parliamentary Party. And then in January this year, he was fired as Chairman of the Organising Committee.
