New Delhi:
A day after United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) released a still picture of its elusive commander-in-chief, Paresh Baruah sitting with armed cadres in battle fatigue, a video has now been distributed to media houses showing him dancing with his cadres.
ULFA is not known for distributing video of its camps.
The video shows Baruah dancing during Bihu celebrations this year inside Burma, and the cadres shouting slogans in English demanding an independent Assam.
This is being seen as a challenge to the ULFA leaderhip which is getting ready to sit for talks without preconditions. Baruah wants sovereignty as a precondition for talks.
Majority of ULFA's Central Committee leaders including its Chairman were arrested and have been bailed out by the government to try and isolate Baruah and hold formal peace talks.
Baruah revealing his look after twenty years is perhaps to assert his presence to the Indian government as well as to his colleagues who have agreed to give up arms.
