Jaipur: A special court in Jaipur has rejected the bail plea of four police officers, accused of killing Dara Singh in a staged gunbattle in 2006.
Dara Singh, a liquor mafia from Churu district, was killed in an encounter by the Special Operations Group of Rajasthan Police in Jaipur.
Later, his family alleged that the encounter was staged and on their plea the Supreme Court had handed over the case to the CBI in April last year.
In its chargesheet filed recently, the CBI has named 16 policemen, including two senior IPS officers - A K Jain and A Ponnuchammi.
