Day after Pune girl's death, govt reviews swine flu guidelines
New Delhi:

A day after a Pune girl died of swine flu infection, the government has expressed deep regret on the incident.

During a press conference held by the Health Ministry in New Delhi, Vineet Chowdhary, Health Secretary, said that the government has reviewed swine flu testing guidelines.

He said that revised swine flu guidelines were approved by the Health Minister on Tuesday.

Giving details about the new guidelines, he said that a person with swine flu symptoms has to go to a government testing facility or hospital and the suspected patients will not be isolated.

"Isolation will be done only after the patient tests positive," Chowdhary said.

He, however, made it clear that existing screening of passengers coming into the country will continue.

Chowdhary also assured that the government has enough stock of Tamiflu, and will be available only in government facilities.
