Jaipur:
A Central Reserve Police Force or CRPF jawan, who was considered dead after he went missing more than three years ago, has been traced to Himachal Pradesh where he has been living with another woman while his wife was availing pension benefits.
Police said his wife was getting pension benefits from CRPF after he was considered dead.
Dashrath Kumar, who was posted in Gaya-Patna, had left home in Jhunjhunu district in February 2012 after his one-month leave ended. But he neither rejoined duty nor returned home, following which his brother lodged a missing complaint in April.
His father also filed a separate case against three persons in connection with his disappearance and also filed a habeas corpus before the high court later in 2012.
"A special team of Rajasthan Police was working on the matter and it finally located him in Himachal Pradesh, where he was living with a woman. The woman, wife of a contractor in Bhilwara, had eloped with him some time ago and a missing compliant in this regard was registered at local police station of Bhilwara," IG Jaipur DC Jain said.
A police team brought the woman and Dashrath from Himachal Pradesh to Alwar today.
Dashrath was produced before the high court in the matter of habeas corpus.
His wife Chandrakala got Rs around 17 lakh from CRPF and is getting Rs 12,000 as family pension for the last one-and-a- half years.
The police team is interrogating him to ascertain the details that why he ran away from duty and family.
