Dehradun: Dehradun SSP Amit Sinha was among eight police officials removed onSunday night following the controversy over the killing of an MBAgraduate in an alleged fake encounter on July 3.
Sinha, who had been strongly defending the encounter, was attached tothe Police Headquarters, Uttarakhand Chief Minister R P Nishank toldreporters.
Apart from Sinha seven other officials including Sub-Inspector G D Bhatt were also removed and sent to police lines, he said.
Bhatt had alleged that the encounter took place after Ranbir Singhsnatched his revolver and beat him up in the posh Dalanwala area.
