Delhi asked to drive better

New Delhi: The roads of the country's capital are no rule of law!

Take 2009, more than 50,000 drivers refused to stop at zebra crossings, about five lakh drivers jumped red lights, 15,000 people charged for over speeding, and cases of dangerous driving doubled compared to the corresponding period last year.

Now the Home Minister has said: Enough is Enough!

He has said that Commonwealth Games are barely a year away, and Delhi has to drive better than this before the world descends on its roads.

"If you stay in Delhi, you have to follow the rules. You can't do what you like," said Chidambaram.

The onus now lies with the people of the city. People need to do their bit to complete the picture of perfect Delhi before the Commonwealth Games next year.

"It's essential to changes. I know Delhi can do it," said Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit.
