Delhi blast probe: National Investigation Agency meets Delhi Police
New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) held a high-level meeting with the Delhi Police today over the probe into Wednesday's blast at the High Court in Delhi. 13 people were killed in this attack.

The NIA has formed a 20-member team to find out which group is behind the terror attack. So far, there is no breakthrough in the probe - four emails claiming responsibility for the blast have been received, but there are no clear leads. The switch used in the blast has been recovered and the forensic reports are to be expected soon.

The investigating agencies have also asked 700 hotels in the Capital to provide CCTV footage so that they may get some clues.

Thirteen people were killed and several others injured when a briefcase bomb exploded at the reception area of Gate No 5 of the Delhi High Court on September 7.

The Delhi Police has released two sketches of men believed to be responsible for the attack.

Sources in the Delhi police say that exercises are being conducted all over the city to safeguard the city from a terror alert. These include:

  • Mock drills like Operation Black Rose held at Patiala House
  • Dummy bombs being placed all over the city
  • 20,000 police force patrolling the Capital
  • 500 extra police officers sent to the traffic police
  • More CCTVs at metro and railway stations
  • Directives sent to all court complexes
  • Lawyers now cannot park their cars outside the court.
