New Delhi:
The Delhi Police, through the day, was plagued by bomb calls. In a span of a few hours the police control room received three calls claiming that bombs had been planted in seven important parts of the city:
- The Safdarjung Hospital
- The NDMC building
- Vikas Minar at ITO
- Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital
- Both Old Delhi and New Delhi Railway Station and
- The town hall in Chandni Chowk
Within an hour the areas were checked and cleared by the police. But it is still looking for the caller.
Police sources say the call was made from a phone booth that has been identified but the culprit is yet to be caught. An anonymous call shortly after 10 am warned the police of these bombs.
Delhi Police asked citizens to stay away from these areas. Fire tenders were put in service.
