Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal at the Centre-State Conclave.
New Delhi:
The Government of Delhi today hosted a conclave of chief ministers to discuss issues related to co-operative federalism. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal spoke about Centre-State relations:
Following are the highlights of the conclave:- This country is so diverse, you cannot run it from New Delhi.
- You need to decentralise.
- There are 3-4 instruments with which the Centre interferes in state's functioning.
- They are: Lt Governor, CBI, Finances.
- The Centre uses CBI to arm-twists the states.
- Our long-standing demand has been to make CBI independent.
- The Centre is collecting taxes but not distributing to states.
- Never has it happened in the history of India that a Governor declared the elected Govt's order null and void.
- Six chief ministers participated directly and indirectly in the conclave.
- Very greatful to Mamata didi (Mamata Banerjee, West Bengal chief Minister). She not only partipated in the conclave, but also guided us.
