New Delhi:

A Harvard Law School pass out, a psychology graduate from University of Leeds and the President's daughter - all are a part of the new team that the Delhi Congress announced to take on the Aam Aadmi party.

Sharmishta Mukherjee, President Pranab Mukherjee's daughter and Congress candidate from Greater Kailash, has been appointed as the party's chief spokesperson and head of the communications wing.

"We have created a system of having shadow department in-charges where one person will be monitoring the functioning of each government department. Be it power, transport, education or urban development, the moment the government doesn't deliver on its promise,we will point it out," said Ajay Maken while introducing the newly appointed 10 members of what can be effectively called as Team Maken.

Some members of this young team are familiar faces and have a political background like former NSUI leaders Ragini Naik and Amrita Dhawan or Alan Hasan Iqbal, son of Shoiab Iqbal, a former lawmaker from Old Delhi for decades.

But there are others who come from non political backgrounds.

For instance, Chaitanya Singh, who will now track AAP's election promises on urban development and civic amenities, is a lawyer with a diploma from Harvard.

Prerna Singh is another such young member who's graduated in Psychology from Leeds.

Aman Pawar, a Supreme Court lawyer, who formerly assisted Mr Maken as researcher, will now be tracking all of AAP's promises to improve Delhi's power scenario.

"There is a gulf between the promise of AAP and implementation on the ground. Our aim will be to work on an analytical & research based platform to ensure that the Kejriwal Government fulfills its poll promises or else the people will get to know the truth," Mr Pawar told NDTV when asked about his new role.

Congress party missed out on having any legislator in the Delhi assembly but clearly the party wants to occupy an important place in playing the main Opposition's role outside.
