Delhi Congress chief, Ajay Maken said that the party will hold a symbolic effigy burning of 'inflation' on Dussehra.
New Delhi:
Delhi Congress today said that the party will burn effigies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Dussehra for "failing" to control inflation and prise rise of essential commodities, especially that of pulses.
Attacking the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and BJP, the ruling parties in the city and Centre, Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee chief Ajay Maken said that the party will hold a symbolic effigy burning of 'inflation' in all the 70 assembly constituencies in the capital simultaneously.
Faces of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Prime Minister Narendra Modi would represent inflation on the effigies.
"On October 23, when people in Delhi and the whole country would burn effigies of Raavan, Congress party will burn 'two-headed' effigies of 'inflation' in all 70 constituencies in Delhi, and the two heads would obviously be Kejriwal and Modi," said Mr Maken.
In an apparent attack on sacked Delhi Food Minister Asim Ahmed Khan, Mr Maken pricked the AAP government saying that the minister who was "responsible" for containing price rise was himself removed for alleged corruption.
"If the Centre had made timely intervention, the rate of dal wouldn't have reached this high," he said
