Delhi Cricket Body Considering Legal Action Against Kirti Azad
BJP's Kirti Azad in a video expose has alleged financial irregularities in the Delhi cricket body which was headed by Arun Jaitley for 13 years.
New Delhi: Delhi's cricket body or the DDCA's treasurer Ravinder Manchanda today said they are mulling legal recourse against BJP lawmaker Kirti Azad, who has alleged that some of the prominent officials have been allegedly involved in financial bungling.

"Kirti Azad has been making baseless allegations against the association for the past few days. He is maligning the image of some of our prominent members. Also he is only showing the documents released by us. Since he has made false allegations, the senior members strongly feel that we should be taking legal recourse and file a defamation suit against Kirti," Mr Manchanda told the Press Trust of India.

Mr Manchanda said that the cricket body has released "all the documents in the media" for a "point by point rebuttal against all the allegations levelled by him".

"We have released all the documents and break-ups of the financial spendings," he added.

The treasurer also said that Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) is applying for all the requisite government clearances for the organisation of ICC World T20 much in advance. Kotla is supposed to host 10 matches in men's and women's category including the marquee semi-final match.
