Hyderabad : Scores of people, mostly students, held a candle light vigil at Tank Bund here this evening condoling death of the 23-year-old student 'Amanat' (NOT her real name).
Demanding justice, people from different walks of life participated in the march that started from Necklace Road before it was culminated at Tank Bund.
The physiotherapy student was gang-raped in a moving bus in Delhi on December 16. She succumbed to her injuries in a Singapore hospital today after battling for life for past 13 days.
Earlier, members of different organisations, including several women, took out a silent protest rally from Nizam College till Abids GPO and held demonstration denouncing the incident.
Holding banners that read 'Stop this crime' and 'Guilty should be punished', they demanded stern punishment to the accused.
