The Delhi government has prepared its response to the Centre's proposal to handover the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) to it.
The Delhi Cabinet met on Tuesday night and discussed the report of the three-member committee, which has been asked to look into the home ministry's proposal of handing over the controlling authority of the MCD to the city government.
The response seeks clarification on division of power between the Lt governor and the chief minister.
It has also decided to ask the Centre to ensure that multiplicity of authorities does not exist in the national capital.
According to sources, the Cabinet finalised the government's response to the proposal, which is expected to be submitted to the Union Home Ministry on Wednesday.
