Delhi High Court blast probe: Prime suspect sent to judicial custody till Nov 8
New Delhi: The police custody of Wasim Akram Malik, prime suspect in the Delhi High Court blast, has ended today. Wasim Akram Malik has been sent to judicial custody till November 8th as the National Investigating Agency (NIA) informed the court they don't want the police custody.

Akram was held by the National Investigating Agency (NIA) from Kishtwar in Jammu and Kashmir.

Akram, a student at the Jalalabad Ragib-Rabea medical college near Sylhet in Bangladesh, has been in police remand for more than a month.

It's been more than a moth since the blast, but the NIA investigators are still grappling with two theories on who was behind the conspiracy and execution of the plot.

While Akram remains the common thread, there are confusing inputs about the involvement of three different militant outfits - the Hizbul Mujahideen, the Harkat-ul Jihad al-Islami (HuJI) and the Lashka-e-Taiba (LeT).

The NIA sleuths are working overtime to unravel the exact details of this complex plot more than 70 days after the blast took place.

The blast near the Delhi High Court on September 7 killed 17 people and injured more than 80.
