After allegedly murdering Shraddha Walkar, her partner Aaftab Poonawala used her phone number when he bought the fridge that he allegedly used to store her body parts.
The bill for the 300-litre fridge, accessed by NDTV, shows that Aaftab used Shraddha's number at the electronics shop near the couple's apartment in Delhi's Chhattarpur.
These details have emerged days after an employee of the shop revealed that Aaftab bought a fridge on May 19 – a day after the killing - and left within minutes.
Delhi police are questioning Aaftab Poonawala, 28, for allegedly strangling his partner in May and sawing her body into 35 pieces, which he kept in the fridge for almost three weeks before dumping them in a forest over several days.
Shraddha and Aftab had moved to Delhi from Mumbai in May this year and lived at a rented apartment.
Following an argument over expenses and allegations of infidelity, Aftab reportedly strangled Shraddha on May 18.
A day later, he later cut up her body. The police are still looking for body parts, which Aaftab allegedly dumped in a jungle in Mehrauli over 18 days.
In the search for Shraddha's severed head, the police have emptied a pond.
