New Delhi: Anna Hazare seems to be set for another confrontation. The veteran activist is preparing to go on an indefinite fast from August 16, a day after the government rejected his version of the Lokpal Bill.
But it's not just the government that Hazare is having problems with. The Delhi police has said he can't stage his fast at Jantar Mantar in the heart of the national capital. This is because of a ban on large gatherings near Parliament at this time.
The police have also asked the veteran activist to specify the number of people who will join his agitation and the length of time of the protest.
Hazare has said he will meet a Supreme Court judge to ask for permission to fast at Jantar Mantar. He said he will meet the judge when he goes to Delhi on August 1.
Anna Hazare had earlier gone on a fast onto death in April this year. This had led to negotiations with the government on the Lokpal Bill.
