New Delhi: Delhi Police has summoned three ex-servicemen for questioning in the suicide of retired Subedar Ram Kishan Grewal, whose death sparked a massive political row over implementation of OROP.
"Three ex-servicemen - Rajkumar, Prithvi and Jagdish - have been called for questioning and investigating the suicide case of Grewal," Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch) Ravindra Yadav said on Saturday.
He said the three men would appear before the crime branch.
The three ex-servicemen hail from a village in Haryana's Bhiwani district and were in regular touch with Mr Grewal, police said.
The police are likely to quiz them to find out the sequence of events in Mr Grewal's suicide on Tuesday.
The 70-year-old former Rajputana Rifles subedar allegedly consumed poison at a Delhi park demanding immediate implementation of the One Rank One Pension (OROP) scheme - which, among other measures, ensures equal pension to retired soldiers who served with the same rank and for the same duration.
