New Delhi:
Voting picked up in the national capital with a record 63 per cent of electors exercising their franchise till about 5 pm, the Delhi Election Commission said.
With that, Delhi broke its earlier record of 62 per cent voting when the first elections were held in 1993 after Delhi was declared a state.
Some constituencies that witnessed a high turnout were New Delhi with 74 and RK Puram at 80.
Voting began at 8 am to decide the fate of 810 candidates contesting for the 70-member Delhi assembly. It closed at 5 pm though polling is still on at some booths.
