Delhi University admissions start on Monday

It is mission admission for thousands of students as the admission process for Delhi University begins Monday.

The pre-admission forms for applying to 47 undergraduate courses will be available from June 1 to 15 across 16 centres in the city. Also, the first cut-off list of various is expected on June 25.

The Open Days will be held from May 24 to June 3. Besides, DU's four telecounselling helplines will remain functional for nearly two months to help students through the admission procedure.

The university has also taken other steps to make the admission process, which is expected to witness a huge rush of students, a hassle-free affair.

The authorities have set up 16 centres across the city where students can purchase and deposit admission forms till June 15. There were only 15 such centres last year.

Forms for Combined Aptitude Test for English, the newly introduced entrance examination for admission in English (Hons) course, will also be available from Monday. The CATE will be held on June 17.

Students belonging to SC/ST can purchase forms from four centres especially set up for them by the university. For physically challenged students a centre has been set up at the DSW office in North Campus.

The university will also deploy trained volunteers and sign language experts to assist physically challenged applicants, authorities said. The first admission list will be released on June 25.

Anticipating the heavy rush on the first day of the session, Delhi police has decided to deploy about 300 of its personnel in the university area.
