New Delhi:
For the second consecutive day today, the Capital woke up to a cold and foggy morning.
The nightmare for passengers at the Delhi airport also continues, as over 70 flights were delayed or diverted.
Fog started to descend on the airport around 8 PM last night and gradually became dense, forcing airport authorities to implement low visibility procedure (LVP).
Around 23 flights coming to the national capital had to be diverted to nearby airports due to the foggy conditions, an airport official said.
The runway visibility hovered between 50 to 175 metres through the night, resulting in disruptions in flight operations.
Not just flights, trains have also been badly hit by the fog. Five trains each have been cancelled and rescheduled, while 66 trains have been delayed.
The temperatures have also gone down in Delhi with the maximum temperature being three degrees below normal, and the minimal a degree below normal.
