Etawah, UP:

Senior Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Shivpal Singh Yadav on Monday said derogatory remarks against party MP Dimple Yadav will not be tolerated and the battle against such comments will be fought from the streets to Parliament.

Reacting to certain comments made by Richa Rajpoot, the social media head of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha's (BJYM) Uttar Pradesh unit who was booked by police on Sunday for the alleged derogatory remarks against Mainpuri MP Dimple Yadav, Shivpal Yadav told reporters that such utterances will no longer be tolerated.

Dimple Yadav is the wife of SP president and former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Akhilesh Yadav.

"The wrong things being said against our daughter-in-law, Dimple Yadav, could only be forgiven to an extent but now, the situation has crossed the point of tolerance," Shivpal Yadav said.

"The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will be surrounded now. Not even a word against Dimple Yadav will be tolerated. The fight against this will be fought from the streets to Parliament," the veteran leader added.

The case against Rajpoot was lodged at the Hazratganj police station here on Sunday on the basis of a complaint from Naresh Uttam Patel, the Uttar Pradesh unit chief of the SP.

In his complaint, Patel alleged: "Dr Richa Rajpoot, through her verified Twitter account, has tweeted using indecent language against Samajwadi Party MP Dimple Yadav. The indecent comments will encourage crime against women. Owing to this, there is anger among the Samajwadi Party workers and the common public." Rajpoot was booked under sections 294 (obscene acts and songs) and 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and provisions of the Information Technology Act, police said.

Shivpal Yadav also alleged that due to the wrong policies of the BJP-led Centre, the rate of unemployment has gone up in the country, farmers are unhappy, the cost of electricity has increased and officials are involved in corruption.

In such circumstances, people have become disenchanted with the saffron party and made up their minds to change the government, he added.
