Heavy rain and strong winds have hit western Rajasthan, causing flash floods. The desert region of Jaisalmer is most affected.

A village called Lathi near Pokhran is completely inundated under 10 feet deep water, 300 villagers have been evacuated and 70 houses have reportedly been washed away.

In Gujarat, four people, including two children, have died in Kutch since Sunday night when cyclonic storms hit this part of the state's coast. This is largely due to Cyclone Phet, which made a landfall on the Pakistan coast over the weekend.
