Determined to uproot Naxalism: Chidambaram
New Delhi: Naxalism shall be uprooted at all cost. This was the message from the Home Minister just a day after his visit to Lalgarh in the Naxal heartland of Bengal. Reiterating his commitment to wiping the movement out, Chidambaram assured a timeframe of two to three years for this purpose.

"We are determined to uproot Naxals. Only because we were tolerant over the past ten to twelve years we've got this big task now. The Centre is firm, the Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh and Sonia Gandhi are firm. There is no place for Naxalism and terrorism in India," said Chidambaram.

"We will not give them any place. Till we have the last drop of blood in our body we will aggressively fight against terrorism and Naxalism and assure you that we would bring them totally under control in two to three years," he said.
