Balurghat: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today said her government was giving priority to the development of entire North Bengal.

"What the erstwhile Left Front regime could not do in 34 years, our government has shown how it should have been done. Development of the entire North Bengal is our priority," Ms Banerjee said after chairing an administrative meeting at Tapan in South Dinajpur district.

Earlier she held a similar meeting at Dharampur in North Dinajpur district during the day.

"The districts of North Bengal, which witnessed gross lack of development in the past, is now witnessing a tide of development. And that has happened during our tenure," she said.

Soon after her meeting at Tapan, Banerjee inaugurated 25 projects across the district including the Bimala Sundari College at Hili, Buniadpur circuit house and ITIs at Kumarganj, Kushmandi, Hili and Harirampur at a rally.

She also laid foundation stones for 15 other projects.

Trinamool Congress lawmakers Subhendu Adikari, Arpita Ghosh, state minister Shankar Chakraborty and legislator Biplab Mitra were present on the occasion.
