Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray today met for the first time since the allies faced off in an acerbic battle for a civic election in Mumbai suburb, Kalyan-Dombivali, earlier this month. After the meeting, they addressed the media.
Here are the highlights of their joint press conference:- Devendra Fadnavis: An empowered committee was formed to look into the issue of setting up a memorial for Bal Thackeray.
- Devendra Fadnavis: We decided to set up a memorial for Balasaheb Thackeray at the Mayor's Bunglow in Dadar's Shivaji Park.
- Devendra Fadnavis: A public trust will be created to look after the memorial.
- Devendra Fadnavis: The trust will be headed by Uddhav ji.
- Devendra Fadnavis: It will be prepared on the lines of a public trust just like the memorial built for Maharashtra's first Chief Minister YB Chavan.
- Uddhav Thackeray: I am grateful to CM Fadnavis for setting up the memorial.
