Nashik: Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadanvis and his Madhya Pradesh counterpart Shivraj Singh Chouhan will attend the flag hoisting ceremony of three akhadas in Nashik at the ongoing Kumbh Mela on August 19.
According to an official press release, Maharashtra Water Resource minister Girish Mahajan said the two chief ministers will attend the flag hoisting ceremony of the three akhadas (group of seers of different denominations), namely -- Nirvani, Nirmohi and Digamber on August 19.
Mr Mahajan, who is also the district guardian minister, held a meeting with heads and members of the three akhadas yesterday.
He also met various mahants and sadhus to discuss if they were facing any issues at the mega religious gathering, it said.
BJP MLA Balasaheb Sanap and Devyani Pharande, district collector Dipendra Singh Kushwah, Nashik municipal corporation commissioner Praveen Gedam were also present with Mahajan, the release added.
