DGCA issue warning to airlines, de-rosters 6 pilots

NDTV Correspondent: A day after a Kingfisher Airlines flight overshot the runway, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation has issued a warning to three airlines.

The DGCA has issued showcause notices to Kingfisher, Go Air and Air India.

The Airlines have been asked to explain why they operated on short runway during wet conditions.

Meanwhile, DGCA has also de-rostered six pilots, 2 each from Kingfisher, Go Air and Air India.

The Kingfisher flight arriving from Bhavnagar (Gujarat) had a close shave at the Mumbai airport on Tuesday, after it skidded off the runway. The ATR aircraft with 42 passengers and four crew members on board overshot the runway after it landed. Three people, including the pilot, suffered minor injuries.
