Did Ketan Parekh bribe Amit Shah? New allegations
New Delhi: There could be more trouble for former Gujarat home minister Amit Shah, who was arrested by the CBI on Sunday.

A report published in The Hindu gives details about how Shah helped convicted stock market scamster Ketan Parekh in the Madhavpura Bank case. The case dates back to 2005.

Ketan Parekh was arrested for the Rs 12,00 crore stock market scam leading many small investors to bankruptcy.

Shah had received a hefty bribe from Parekh for this particular favour.

Citing prima facie evidence of wrongdoing, the report also cites a three-page CID report of 2005, from the Additional Director General of Police to the Chief Secretary, Gujarat government, recommending a CBI inquiry into the bribe allegation.

Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi sat on it and the officer was quickly shunted out of the CID.
