Kolkata: Faizal Shahzad, arrested for the failed bomb attempt in New York, was hauled off a Dubai-bound plane that he boarded on Monday night at the John F Kennedy (JFK) International Airport.
Sulagna Bhattacharya, a resident of New York, was on the same flight as Faisal Shahzad when he was arrested. She is now in Kolkata with her family and spoke to NDTV about the experience.
"We didn't realise initially that there was a terrorist in the flight. We came out of the flight at 2-2.30 in the night and they were showing the news on CNN that they caught someone from JFK. Even at that time it never came to my mind that the terrorist was inside our flight. It was almost going to take off and then when finally they showed his picture we were all very scared," Sulagna said.
"It was a very scary and a very shocking experience. I never doubted that he could be a terrorist because he was a very normal looking guy. He was holding his passport and sitting there, we could never have doubted him because he looked so normal," she added.
