An altercation between two factions of the right wing group Karni Sena led to a shootout in Rajasthan on Friday.
The incident took place at upscale Chitrakoot in Jaipur.
Mahipal Singh Makrana of the Karni Sena was attacked allegedly by the gunman of Shiv Singh Shekhawat of the Rashtriya Karni Sena.
In turn, Shiv Singh Shekhawat claims that Mahipal Singh Makrana'a men shot at him.
The two groups were meeting at Shiv Singh Shekhawat's office and the meeting soon devolved into an abusive match between them. However, it is not clear what triggered the heated exchange between the groups.
"No one got hurt due to the firing. Those injured in the fight are being treated. The facts of the entire incident are being confirmed and advance legal action is being taken," the police said in a statement.
Videos from the site of shootout showed injured Mahipal Singh Makrana slumped on a sofa. In another video, his bloodied face can be seen. He has been rushed to a hospital.
"We were sitting in my office. Four people came in saying they want to meet me. A few days ago, Mahipal Singh Makrana had threatened that he will harm me. I had also received a threat call from Pakistan. The men who came in started abusing me and suddenly fired a shot. My gunman also fired a shot. You can see the blood mark on my hand," said Shiv Singh Shekhawat, holding up his hand.
