The District administration in Bundi today issued directives to its officers to carry out various Yogic exercises in an uniform pattern at their institutions across gram panchayat and block levels on International Yoga Day.
"Yoga exercises in uniformed pattern as recommended by the Central government would be carried out across the gram panchayat to block and district level headquarters on International Yoga Day on June 21," District Collector Niha Giri today said in a meeting.
A two-day Yoga training programme will also be conducted before the International Yoga Day on June 21. Untrained or fresh aspirants will be trained in Yogic exercises with a uniformed pattern so that one can perform Yoga accurately, she said.
The district level officials (DLOs) and NGOs have also been asked to start the preparations for the same. Around 3,000-3,500 people are expected to participate in the Yoga activities scheduled at the Bundi district head quarters.
Further informing, the Collector said that around three hundred Yoga trainers from district Nehru Yuva Kendra, local Pantanjali centres and other organisations have been asked to conduct the Yoga exercises under their supervision on the day.
District Ayurveda Officer has also been appointed as the nodal officer for the Yoga exercises on this occasion, she added.
She also said that the direction to observe the day is not mandatory for a "community or religious institutions and organisations."
"The direction to observe Yoga Day or carry out Yoga exercises is not mandatory for a religion or community-based institution including the Madarsas," she said, adding that Yoga is a globally recognised exercise for mental peace and physical growth.
Ms Giri also informed about 'Chair Yoga' for the government employees which will be performed at their office desks.
Bundi SP Tajraj Singh Kharodiya, Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Ramjivan Meena, chief medical and health officer (CMHO) Dr Suresh Jain were among those present at the meeting.
