Raipur: A District Reserve Group (DRG) personnel who was critically injured in an encounter with Maoists in Narayanpur district last week, died today at a private hospital.
Sub-Inspector Pushpraj Nagwanshi (36), posted with District Reserve Group (DRG), in Kondagaon district died at around 10:20 am at Ramkrishna Care Hospital, a police official said.
The body has been sent to his native place in Kanker where he will be cremated with full honour, the official said.
Mr Nagwanshi had sustained serious injuries in the stomach during a gun-battle between the joint squad of DRG and local police, and the ultras on June 13 at the forests of Kilam Becha village in Narayanpur.
Two other personnel of DRG, Assistant Sub-Inspector Awadh Ram Sahu and constable Vinay Singh were also injured in the encounter and are undergoing treatment at the same hospital, the police official said.
