Lucknow:
Mother of the teenager, who died after she was sexually assaulted allegedly by her school manager's son in Kanpur last September, today met Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi at the party headquarters in Lucknow and sought his intervention to bring the guilty to justice.
She also alleged that police had harassed her during the course of investigation.
"Sonu Bhadauria, mother of Divya, met Rahul Gandhi along with her six-year-old daughter at UPPCC headquarters and narrated the incident while demanding action against guilty police personnel and officers," party sources said.
Rahul was in Lucknow to attend the UPPCC state coordination committee meeting, where tight security arrangements were made for his visit.
"Rahulji had a five to seven minutes interaction with her (Bhadauria) before leaving for New Delhi," sources said.
Earlier, Sonu demanded that suspended policemen should be sent to jail.
"The then DIG Prem Prakash threatened me and I was pressurised to the leave the room where I live," she said.
"They even offered me rupees five to six lakh saying that take money and build future of your second daughter," she alleged.
The incident occurred on September 27 when Anushka alias Divya, a fourth standard student of Gyan Bharati, was sexually assaulted within the school premises allegedly by the manager's younger son.
The girl was sent back home along with two maids and her mother was informed at her workplace. She died in hospital that evening.
Following protest by locals, the state government ordered a CB-CID probe in the incident on October 23.
"The CB-CID in its report has found school manager C P Varma, his two sons Mukesh and Piyush guilty and shortcomings in the police action," state Cabinet Secretary Shashnak Shekhar Singh had earlier told reporters.
The three accused were arrested. A DNA examination during the probe suggested the involvement of prime accused Piyush in the assault and a charge sheet was filed against him in a special CJM court last week.
The Uttar Pradesh government has already suspended three police officers besides ordering inquiry against Prakash in connection with the case.
The CB-CID on Monday arrested one more person in connection with the sexual assault and death case.
