Rajya Sabha today witnessed a scuffle after a DMK member displayed a placard against AIADMK supremo Jayalalithaa which infuriated her party members.
Trouble broke out when K P Ramalingam (DMK) displayed the placard which read "Arrest Jaya for stolen land in Kodanadu estate".
Members belonging to arch rival AIADMK A Elavarasan and N Balaganga rushed towards Ramalingam to snatch the paper, leading to a scuffle.
NCP and Congress members, including Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs V Narayanasamy, intervened to separate them.
Tamil Nadu government has approached the Supreme Court to acquire land of Kodanadu Estate belonging to former Chief Minister Jayalalithaa in Nilgiris district.
The scuffle took place when the House was witnessing uproar with members shouting slogans in the well with the Opposition demanding a Joint Parliamentary Committee to probe into 2G spectrum controversy.
