DMK leader MK Alagiri held: Reports
Chennai: DMK leader and Union Minister for Chemical and Fertilisers, MK Alagiri, has reportedly been detained by the Tamil Nadu Police.

He has been detained in connection with the attack on a Tahsildar in Madurai, allegedly by DMK men where Alagiri was present.

An FIR was filed against the Union Minister and three others.

The arrest comes days before Tamil Nadu Assembly elections on April 13. The DMK is fighting 119 of the 234 Assembly seats; its partner, the Congress has been given 63 seats.
