DMK says Ramdev is disguising 'Corporate Personality'

DMK says Ramdev is disguising 'Corporate Personality'
New Delhi: Dubbing Baba Ramdev as a "saintly dressed corporate personality", the DMK today demanded a probe into the financial activities and accumulation of "huge wealth" and properties by the yoga guru.

The party, a crucial ally of the Congress at the Centre, also proposed a debate of all parliamentary parties before the Monsoon session to discuss the issue of bringing back black money stashed in foreign banks.

"There should be a thorough probe into the financial activities and accumulation of huge wealth and properties by Ramdev and all about his trusts," DMK Parliamentary Party Secretary Adhi Shankar said in a statement.

Launching a blistering attack on Ramdev, he said the yoga guru first mustered the faith of innocent people in the name of yoga. "Slowly, he converted himself into no less than a multi-national company and collected thousands of crores as a corporate house. And now the saintly dressed corporate house personality is presuming the faith reposed by the yoga lovers as the faith of his political followers and misusing it for his personal political ambitions," he said.

The DMK MP alleged that Ramdev charged "exorbitantly" from people for Ayurvedic treatment and medicines. He also said the BJP's protest at Rajghat and Sushma Swaraj dancing there shows "their joy as if they have got a great issue against the central government without any efforts".

Shankar also asked Ramdev to clarify whether he approves the "misdeeds and corruption" of the BJP-ruled states.
