Amid the ruckus, Lok Sabha was adjourned till 4 pm.

New Delhi: Doctors had to be called in today to the Lok Sabha, when a lawmaker from the CPM, who was protesting in the well of the House, fell ill with high blood pressure. The House had to be adjourned till 4 pm.

A Sampath, a Kerala MP, was protesting along with others over the conversion issue.

Doctors brought in a wheelchair as Mr Sampath started perspiring profusely.
Amid the chaos, Rajesh Ranjan or Pappu Yadav, a lawmaker from Lalu Prasad's RJD, was seen tearing up paper and throwing it in the chair's direction, drawing strong censure from the Deputy Speaker M Thambidurai, who said, "That is very bad. You have to respect the chair. That is not the way to behave. Throwing paper on me - is it democratic? Why have you thrown paper at me? That's why I had to adjourn the House."

Mr Yadav maintained that he did not misbehave. "I did not misbehave and I have not thrown papers towards the chair, I repeat. We won't allow any atrocities against the minorities," he said.

When the House reconvened at 4 pm, Parliamentary Affairs minister Venkaiah Naidu said, "I met the hon'ble member Sampath. The doctor has examined him. He had gone through overexertion."
