Don't get offended by 'sexy', says chief of National Commission for Women

New Delhi: In a bizarre comment, the Chairperson of the National Commission for Women (NCW), Mamta Sharma has claimed that the word 'sexy' should not be considered offensive.

She says the word actually means 'beautiful and charming' and it should not be taken in a negative sense.

However,  her argument has angered the BJP and women's groups who say that the NCW Chief's remark is shocking and demoralising for women.

The BJP's Women's Wing in Rajasthan has asked the NCW Chief to resign.

After these demands were made, Mamta Sharma said, her remarks are being twisted and if they have hurt anyone, she is ready to withdraw them.
