An argument over likes and comments on Instagram allegedly led to a chilling double murder in Delhi on Wednesday, said police. Two people have been taken into custody in the incident that occurred at Bhalswa Dairy in outer Delhi.
Sahil, 18 and Nikhil, 28 were stabbed multiple times when they reached there to meet a woman. Sahil and the woman had a dispute over increasing their Instagram popularity, said police.
In a rather movie-style threat, the attackers armed with knives also tried to thwart any attempt by onlookers to rescue the injured before they could escape, said police.
The victims, who were noticed by onlookers and rushed to hospital, died during treatment.
The woman had asked Sahil to meet her near her home. But when he and his friend Nikhil reached there, they were attacked, police said. The alleged attackers were known to her and even included some of her followers, they added.
The blood-soaked bodies of the victims were noticed by some onlookers but their rescue efforts were thwarted by the knife-wielding attackers who later escaped the crime scene, said the police.
Two of the accused have been taken into custody and a search is on for the rest, said officials. The police are scouring through security camera. Further investigation is on.
