New Delhi/Kolkata: Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, who ruled himself out of the race for the next President, today wrote to West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Chief Mamata Banerjee, thanking her for proposing his name.
Dr Kalam in his letter to Ms Banerjee said, he saw "great leadership quality" in her "graceful politics".
The Trinamool Chief's whole-hearted support for Dr Kalam, which included a Facebook campaign, was cut short by the scientist's announcement on Monday that he will not run against Mr Mukherjee for the post of President.
